ABOUT ME: MY PATH IS YOUR GUARANTEE
I am not a desk lawyer born in the sterile silence of Swiss offices. I am a son of the Land of Fire — Azerbaijan. My professionalism was shaped not only in university halls but, above all, in real combat with systems designed to break human lives.
The Roots of Defiance
Since the age of 13, as the “Evil Empire” began to crumble, I was already standing in the squares, holding flags and calling for protest. My father was a high-ranking state official, a man of great authority. While he, following his duty, urged the people to remain calm, I — his son — stood one block away, calling those same people to take to the streets.
In January 1990, they tried to crush us. Russian tanks and warships attacked our peaceful city. They ran over ambulances and killed the wounded. They spilled our blood, but they could not break our will. We seized our freedom. But the darkness did not retreat; Russia ignited wars and unleashed its “fifth column” to maintain its grip. My family and I waged war against this invisible power for decades. This struggle is what ultimately brought me to Switzerland — to you.
The Story of My Name and Heritage
My name and surname are more than just words; they are a map of my journey and the values of my ancestors.
At birth, my father named me Lachin, which means “Peregrine Falcon” in my native tongue. The falcon is a symbol of vision and freedom—qualities I have carried with me throughout my life.
My surname, Shirvani, reflects my roots in the ancient region of Shirvan, the heart of the Shirvanshah dynasty. Shirvan translates to “Land of Lions.” This is why my company’s crest features two lions from my ancestral homeland alongside the cross from the flag of my second home, Switzerland. It is a union of ancient strength and modern stability.
I know my family history fifteen generations back. We have always fought for the right to be free. My great-grandfather, Haji Mamish, once bought the freedom of a man just to set him free and bring him into our family as a brother. Nearly two centuries later, I found myself doing the same.
I was held in a Moscow police detention center—picked up off the street for no reason other than extortion. In that dark holding cell, I saw an Italian man who had been beaten and harassed by other detainees. I defended him with my fists, and then, using my last bit of money, I bought his freedom from the corrupt officers.
We walked out of that station together that same evening. He struggled to pronounce my birth name, Lachin, and out of gratitude, he called me Luciano. That name has stayed with me ever since as a symbol of strength, justice, and freedom.
Beyond the Resume: Law, Culture, and Honor
To understand who I am, you must know where I come from. I am a lawyer, the son of a statesman and a teacher of Russian language and literature. I grew up in the world of books, theatre, and poetry. I performed Pushkin on stage and played in the KVN (Club of the Funny and Resourceful) comedy theatre.
I am a man of the word in every sense. I am the author of over 700 poems in the classical genre of Aruz — a complex, ancient form of Eastern poetry that demands not only inspiration but a mathematical precision of mind.
I do not come from the criminal world; I come from the world of Law, Literature, and Honor. But when war and repression came for my people, I was forced to become a warrior to protect the innocent. I have walked through minefields and through fire. In the fourteen chapters below, every step of my path is documented and backed by a hyperlink — each one paid for with my own blood and my own happiness. Today, I stand before you with a simple code:
“There is not a single creature of God in this world that I am ashamed to look in the eye.”
The Price of Principles
The only angel in my life is my Mother. She has wept too much because of the path I chose. When my Father passed away, I could not be there to stand by her side at his funeral. This is the price I have paid for my principles — for always choosing the side of the weak.
The Lens of Truth
The photographs you see on this website were captured by my professional photographer and Kurdish brother — a man who survived 11 years of horrific torture as a political prisoner. We both know what injustice and pain truly are. This shared experience unites us and shapes how we see the world.
These images are not about aesthetics or posing. They are about the raw truth of people who refused to break.
My Promise
I have divided my journey into 14 chapters. This is my “self-lustration.” I do not ask you to read them, but you must know the face of the man to whom you entrust your fate.
My freedom and my reputation stand higher than my life. My experience is your guarantee that your rights will be protected with the full force of the Constitution and International Conventions. I walked this path myself so that today, I could become your shield.
Everything may be relative. But law and justice — never!
Respectfully,
Luciano Shirvani
